Why did you get involved with Beds for Kids Trust?
In 2023, I was profoundly moved when I first learned about bed poverty. It struck me that waiting for someone else to address this critical issue in Inverclyde and the West of Scotland would be unjust. I knew I had to act.
Driven by a sense of responsibility and compassion, I partnered with two highly capable colleagues to establish the Beds for Kids Trust. Together, we are dedicated to tackling bed poverty and ensuring that every child has a safe and comfortable place to sleep. Through our collective efforts, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by this issue.

Isobel Marshall
Trustee and Chair-Person
Isobel retired early from a career in nursing. The majority of her working life was with the Marie Curie Hospice, Glasgow.
Retirement has allowed Isobel opportunity to enjoy different avenues of activity including gardening, education and volunteering at Alzheimer’s Scotland.
Isobel loves walking and cycling on dry days. She loves being creative whether with fabrics, crafts, baking or painting.
Isobel has been involved in Sunday school work most of her life.
Why did you get involved with Beds for Kids Trust?
Pauline shared with me the work in London on bed poverty. It was not a great stretch of the imagination to think that this could be a problem in Inverclyde. This is a small initiative which we hope will have an impact on the quality of a child’s life.

Howard Mole
Trustee and Treasurer
Howard is a 66-year-old retired professional
From 1977 to 2015, he worked in the financial industry, then transitioned to health insurance until 2023.
In his spare time, Howard enjoys walking, cycling, and paddle-boarding. He also enjoys history, especially the 2nd world war in Europe.
Community & Outreach
In addition to the above, Howard served as a volunteer with Teen Challenge from 1995 to 1999.
Separately, he participated in Christian outreach missions to Ukraine, the former Soviet Union (twice), and Kenya.
Howard is currently a board member of a housing association (since 2016) and serves as a trustee and treasurer for a Christian charity.
Why did you get involved with Beds for Kids Trust?
I feel that Beds for Kids offers to children who have been deprived through no fault of their own, one of life’s basic necessities – a comfortable place to sleep.
